The Parrock is situated on the site of the former stables and workshop and provides excellent views to Causey Pike, Skiddaw and beyond. The Parrock (which as part of Stair Mill was built about 1840,) has been refurbished to provide an open plan kitchen, dining and living area along with the benefit of a second bathroom.

From The Parrock there are great views of the various birds, which are frequent visitors to the feeders in the garden. To take full advantage of these fantastic views, the open plan living area is on the first floor (we call it the upside down house!)

The accommodation sleeps up to 6 people and includes:

• 3 fully carpeted bedrooms (1 double,1 twin on ground floor, 1 double on first floor)
• Lobby and boot area
• Main bathroom with shower over bath (first floor)
• Shower room, incorporating shower, wash basin and toilet (also on the first floor)
• Open plan living area incorporating the kitchen, dining area and sitting area
• In the open plan living area is an extendable dining table, flat screen Smart TV with Freesat, a DAB+ radio with CD player and Bluetooth connectivity

  • Free standing fridge-freezer
• Washing machine and tumble dryer are provided for the sole use Parrock guests in the lockable storage area next to the cottage
• Wi-Fi is available with a speed of approx. 55Mbps download
• A high chair, travel cot and stairgate are available on request

There is easy access to the gardens, the wood and a dedicated seating area outside, overlooking Skiddaw and Causey Pike.  There is a path through the woodland that takes you to the back gate and straight onto the fells.

A portable barbecue is available.

Parents of young children should be aware that part of the old mill pond still remains in the grounds and can reach a depth of around 10 inches.
